Dreamhack Overview

Dreamhack are closing in and a few changes has been announced. We update you with the latest news regarding Dreamhack Winter 07.

The last news we wrote about Dreamhack was the seedings for the Dreamhack CS 1.6 tournament. Changes has been made since redCode announced that they would not attend the event.

A new team had to receive seed 16. The 16. seed goes to the Swedish clan Playzone. Playzone earlier got mad because they did not receive a seed, same did the Danish team Ideal Gaming, whom recently has been doing very well on the Danish scene. Playzone on the other hand qualified for the Extreme Masters II. With Playzone filling in as the last seeded team, the 16 seeded teams are as follows.

MYM, seeded 6 has announce they will not be going, as Sondre "REAL" Svanevik is ill, and at the hospital. No standin will be playing for MYM during Dreamhack. The team simply won't attend.
One of the MYM players will though be going. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT"Alesund will be acting as standin for Violence is Bad during Dreamhack.

NoA whom recently won BattleIT #5 in front of SoA will be playing without their tactic leader Alexander "ave" Holdt at Dreamhack.

Martin "guddo" Cording, team manager states to HLTV.org:

"Unfortunately ave is prevented in participating to this years last tournament. We got a pretty satisfying seed and hopefully we can manage keep it, even with whiMp as the last guy in the formation."

Extreme Masters has also found their way to this edition of Dreamhack. A total of four matches from Extreme Masters II will be played at Dreamhack, in the DreamArena possible to host 1.000 spectators.

All Extreme Masters II matches taking place at Dreamhack will be covered with HLTV.org HLTV. So there is really no reason to go anywhere this weekend.

ESL will also be hosting a showdown match between the two highest ranked teams in Sweden for the time being. Both teams ended up in the Extreme Masters LA. grand final. It's fnatic and SK-Gaming for those of you not guessing that. SK-Gaming will have their chance to take revenge. The showmatch will not just be for the fun of it and the honor. The winner of the match will walk away wih 2.500$ and the honor.

ESL Showmatch at Dreamhack

The ESL showmatch taking place at Dreamhack will also be broadcasted by HLTV.org.


The Dreamhack CS 1.6 tournament will be playing 16 matches at once and HLTV.org will be covering all of them. Dreamhack will as mentioned before be hosting a huge CS 1.6 tournament with 256 teams going into a single elimination bracket. When those 256 teams have been cut down to 32, the teams will continue in double elimination.

HLTV.org will be on location providing you photos from the event, results, demos and HLTV from the CS 1.6 tournament and what else might happen at this huge event housing 8.300 gamers.
